Today is Sunday, or as I like to call it, the Lord’s day! I hope that it’s a great one for you- full of rejoicing and praises for all that God has blessed you with. I hope that you have an “attitude of gratitude” before you even get to church today, and the excitement of believers in Jesus assembling together in His name revives your spirit and strengthens you! You are not alone on your journey- we are walking with you brother and sister- toward the Light! I hope you get the victory today, and give a shout of praise!
35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
37 Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
38 “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out more laborers into His harvest.”
Knowing that Jesus is coming soon for His harvest causes excitement for me- that I will finally be with Him, seeing Him for the first time as He is, and to see all that He has prepared for me, including a glorified body, made to spend eternity with Him. I also think about being with all the believers for all of human history, gathered together with God. An awesome thought!
I also think about those that don’t know Him as Savior yet, and will miss the harvest. With the time of the Lord’s appearing approaching quickly- I pray for more compassion in my life- just like Jesus had- to reach out to those who don’t know the gospel yet. As I stay excited always about His return, I pray I can reach out to as many as possible with the gospel.
This song is about both these things. The joy that He is coming and the need to tell others about Him.
